It is over a year since Beth and I married in Bali. Thank you David and Greig and Reba and everyone else who participated!

Beth and Alex were married in Bali, Indonesia on February 13, 2008. We celebrated with Alex’s family in Southern California the weekend of January 26th, and with Beth’s family and throughout Summer 2008.

On to our story.

During our four years together since February 6th, 2003, our talks about marriage centered around a unique event created just for us on a beach somewhere in the world and presided over by a witch doctor, tribe leader, sea captain, or other less-than-traditional agent. Realistically, though, how could we ever do that? Like many other times in our relationship, synchronicity found its way to us.

Alex proposed to Beth on August 5th, 2007 after our Master’s Program cohort decided to visit Bali to be taken on a behind-the-scenes tour by David Patten. David, a Celtic linguist raised in the ancient druidic tradition of the Oghama, agreed to preside over our marriage ceremony along with our good friend Greig Andrews. Thank you David and Greig!

This is our ring. We will have a matching set and really loved this one. The simple abstract designs can be seen as water, wind, or leaves.

After the wedding, we finished our CE masters program, Beth’s Integrative Nutrition program, moved to Salt Lake City for six months, and finally moved to the San Francisco Bay Area.
