CNN shared a bit of news on mindfulness. Here’s my favorite line:
“The one thing I came away with was the ability to put myself in a place where I could gain perspective on everything I was doing at the moment,” she said.
This statement epitomizes one of the benefits of paying attention to my experience. As I’ve learned and practiced mindfulness in various forms, the quality of my life, moment to moment, has improved by thousands of percent. It’s difficult to imagine how I had been before I really started to notice myself. Of course, that might just be my terrible memory!
One amazing thing about mindfulness is, that when coupled with activity such as exercise, I have had numerous clients experience profound shifts in their lives for the better and towards greater quality and enjoyment as well. Often this is a “side benefit.” Come for exercise, benefit by bliss. Cheesy but true
The lesson is - pay attention to what you’re doing. It’s simple, though not always easy. You can do it.
